ONE THING THAT IS NEEDFUL 3

ASK ?
…and all that I have is thine Luke 15:31
Asking has to do with requesting for something. It is shocking to discover that majority of believers don’t
ask from God for somethings they should.
Do you remember the story of the prodigal son, you might be wondering what’s that got to do with
Asking .looking at the story one of the sons asked for his inheritance while the other didn’t, even though
he later squander it.
Examine the story very well, it was not that the prodigal son did something bad by
asking infact I consider him wiser than his brother. It just that he lacked maturity and wisdom in
handling what is father gave him and he left the presence of the father (looking at the spiritual
meaning). But the other brother which we all always consider GOOD is the person I personally have a
problem with. You know why, because he failed to ask their father for his inheritance. He has been with
the father all his life and he failed to Ask.
This story is a true reflection of our lives as believers, I know it pays to serve God and there are blessings
automatically attached to that. But So many times God won’t give you some things if you fail to ask for
it. You know why? Because he has commanded you to ask. He said in his word ask and it shall be given
to you. If you don’t place demand on his promises you won’t receive it.
The older Son failed in this aspect and when he asked his father why he was celebrating his younger
brother when he came back. Guess what the father told him. ‘’ALL THAT I HAVE IS THINE’’. Am sure you
know God doesn’t impose things on people. It your responsibility to ask of him.
So many believers believe if they ask for some things they become worldly. But your father said if you
ask anything in his name I will give unto you. Some people consider asking for prosperity, a good
husband (with the qualities you want), the best job, a new dimension spiritually as worldly. But hey!
Anything that comes from the father is not worldly so far you are asking from Him.
The problem actually is that we don’t see God has our father (Luke 11:11), if you see him as your father
you can ask him for anything and I Mean ANYTHING.
So sweetheart the lord is eager to hear your request from him even the things you think are minute. Just
Ask and he will give your desires. He loves you and doesn’t withhold good gifts from his children.
LAWS OF ATTRACTION FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH
The woman called Ruth is one of the women in the bible that inspires me. Studying the book of Ruth I
have come to discover that there are so many principles hidden in the book of Ruth especially in
chapter3 that I know will bless you and your relationship or marriage especially for the ladies. I will like
to title them laws of attraction.
Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee,
And put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor:
But make not thyself known unto the man,
Until he shall have done eating and drinking Ruth 3:3
The first principle implies that as a lady you need to take care of your physical appearance. ‘’Wash
yourself’’ means ensure you need to appear physically neat because no man wants a woman who is
dirty.
Another one is ‘’Anoint yourself’’ which means carry Gods presence. Sweetheart if his presence doesn’t
follow you will attract the wrong person. One benefit of his presence is that you will attract the right
people to your life and destiny. Never neglect the place of the anointing, you will need in your
relationship and marriage. Anointing is not just for working miracles. There is anointing for a good
spouse and a good marriage. You deserve the best!!!
The next principle is, Put thy raiment upon thee’’ other translations put it as wear your best garment
meaning you should be well dressed. Never forget that the way you are dressed is the way you be
addressed. Also like attract like, if you dress anyhow you will attract anyhow kind of husband.
Be conscious of the way you appear because you never know the day of opportunity. Dress like a queen
that you are, don’t dress less than what God has created you to be and ensure you apply appropriate
moderation too.
Also, ‘’Get thee down to the threshing floor’’ according to the text implies that has a lady you need to be
humble. Bring yourself down (not by losing yourself worth) but be humble and teachable. No man wants
a woman who robs shoulder with him. Be humble, submissive and let your man be the king that he is.
Another important principle is ‘’But make not thyself know unto the man’’ I have a problem with ladies
that can’t wait and allow the man approach them first. You might call it civilization but I call it tamping
with Gods laid down process. Remember he said ‘’he’’ that findeth not ‘’she’’ that findeth. Maintain
you’re cool and let him approach you first. In Verse 17 Naomi told her to ‘’sit still’’ meaning wait
patiently don’t be in a rush.
Finally, one key thing in the life of Naomi was that she had a mentor verse 6 said she did everything her
mother in law bade her to. The question is who mentors you, who do you listen too, who gives you
advice and who are you accountable. As a women you need a mentor, some who you can look up,
someone who can give you good advice and someone’s whose life is worth of emulation.
